Durgin Detailing - 804-238-5768

I recently had Luke Durgin of Durgin Detailing (804-238-5768, ldurg26@gmail.com) detail my car. Luke transformed the car's interior and exterior to make it look brand new. I purchased the Audi in 2017, and it has served me well. I plan to keep it for quite a long time. I was overdue to have it sparkle and look brand new again. He fit my requested weekend time slot and patiently cleaned it from top to bottom, inside and out. He is a hard-working and highly motivated young man. Valley Garage Doors - 540-292-3667

The motor on my garage door died recently. I called Valley Garage Doors (540-292-3667) in Staunton on a Saturday. On the following Wednesday a repair man showed up promptly, replaced the motor, and had the door running up and down like a charm. He did it in about an hour. The bill was $525. I was very satisfied. Stoney Creek Auto - 434-361-1143

Stoney Creek Auto in Nellysford (434-361-1143) promptly solved one of those semi-emergency, frustrating and annoying, auto repair problems for my daughter this week. On her drive in from DC for a short visit, she hit something on the road and arrived with the protective undercarriage of her car loose and dragging.The protective cowling would have to either be removed or reattached for the car to be drivable. A task that required a garage lift, parts, and tools. The folks at Stoney Creek Auto worked her in the morning we called and on short notice reattached the offending cowling section and had the car back in under three hours–all at a nominal cost. My Subaru Outback unexpectedly started cranking unenthusiastically on Thursday. I drove to Fisher Auto (434-361-2230) in downtown Nellysford and asked if I needed a new battery for the car. They connected a small computer to the car under the dash, put a meter on the battery, and found everything to be as it should. The car battery was fine, but the charge was a touch low. Checking over all of the wirings, they found one of the cables on the battery's two posts was slightly loose. That was it. Cost for this instant, drive-up service provided with a sense of humor: nothing. It's how they sell batteries. I have gotten a similar service shopping for windshield wipers there. Will Gallant helped build a shed for me and has done a number of home projects for a friend. He is reliable, timely, well-groomed, neat and respectful towards people and their homes. In addition to handyman home projects such as lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, outlets, light drywall, light framing, he also does fine trim work. Power washing, sanding; repair, power washing & staining of decks. He is also an ASE certified mechanic so pretty much can repair anything dealing with combustible engine repairs such as lawnmowers.
