New Wintergreen Club membership marketing effort

The resort’s club is selling itself more aggressively as a value proposition while adding new promotions

Charts in the new 20-page Wintergreen Club booklet detail the dollars members save when using the resort’s amenities.

Some 78 percent of Wintergreen property owners who do not belong to the resort’s Wintergreen Club said the reason they didn’t belong was that they were “unable to justify the cost.”

This was one finding of the survey the Wintergreen Property Owners Association conducted at the end of 2022, which reported that half of Wintergreen's property owners are not members of the resort’s club.

This may have been one of the key reasons for Wintergreen Club’s new 20-page booklet that breaks down the cost benefits of membership as never before.

The new booklet may make the value of a membership easier to figure out, but it’s still not easy. The value is different for most every family.

Prospective members are encouraged to attend the once-a-month Saturday tours to hear the details or email membershotline@wintergreenresort.com.

Unpublished promotions reportedly exist to entice people to become members. Former club members interested in rejoining, for example, may be targeted with deals.

A new promotion uses significant discounts on club membership to promote Wintergreen Real Estate Company, which is owned by Pacific Group Resorts, the company that also owns and operates the resort.

Property buyers who select the resort-owned real estate company as a buyer's agent are offered “Resort Membership Club assistance,” where buyers receive a free 90-day trial membership beginning on their real estate closing date.

Also, on or before the end of the 90-day trial membership, the new property owner can join Wintergreen Club at a $2,500 discount on the $7,500 activation fee of an Introductory Membership, or a $5,000 discount on the $15,000 activation fee of a Full Membership.

This deal on club memberships is not available to property buyers using any other real estate company.
