The Wintergreen community again has a pharmacy in Nellysford. The UVA Health Pharmacy Stoney Creek is focused on prescription drugs. It’s not a full-service drugstore.

The Executive Director of the Wintergreen Property Owners Association barely mentioned the proposed Renaissance Ridge development in his initial presentation at the 2023 annual meeting on November 11th. But during the question and answer part of the meeting a property owner voiced concerns about “workforce housing” being part of the development. Jay Roberts was ready to ad-lib the long and detailed answer in the video here.

Tuckahoe Clubhouse’s new patio got four large umbrellas for shade in May 2023.

Jay Roberts outlines some of the plans for the new patio at Tuckahoe Clubhouse which should be completed by May. “It will be two or three years before the plantings are mature,” Roberts notes.“This is a work in progress. The flexible layout allows us to adjust seating areas based on how the space is used."

Fire and Frost started serving breakfast and lunch on January 20, 2023, offering made-to-order pizzas from their wood-fired oven along with homemade pastries and quiches for breakfast.

There are seven intersections on Route 151 with what the Virginia Department of Transportation calls "a high wreck frequency":  the Avon and Afton Mountain Road, Tanbark Drive, Greenfield Road, Rockfish School Lane, River Road (Route 6), Monocan Drive, and Beech Grove Road.

Some 50-plus citizens–including Wintergreen Resort General Manager Jay Gamble and Nelson County Supervisor Ernie Reed–came out to the townhall meeting held by Wintergreen's public safety chiefs on September 8 at Tuckahoe Clubhouse. Wintergreen's public safety services are "incredibly expensive but they are a big part of what makes Wintergreen extraordinary," Wintergreen Property Owner Association Executive Director Jay Roberts told the audience.

Jay Gamble's presentation at the Wintergreen Mountain Homesteaders’ 2002 annual meeting on September 3 marked his one-year anniversary as Wintergreen Resort's general manager.

Vittles Van came to Nellysford in August taking up a corner of the parking lot next to the barber shop that shares the building with the Blue Ridge Pig [map].

The good news is effigies work well on buzzards.

As is always the case, the WPOA annual meeting offered up interesting tidbits of news and new insights.

Statement from the developers: “In alignment with the Wintergreen Master Plan, Renaissance Ridge neighborhood at Stoney Creek will reflect similar housing types and price ranges based on the precedent set during Wintergreen’s comprehensive development history. Starting prices are anticipated to start at $200K+ and as high as $600K.”
